Iced Tea

- by Mary Ogle

This week's theme: Tea

The history of tea as a beverage can be traced back at least as far as 1000 BC. It has woven itself into the fabric of humanity and has become the center for rituals both cultural and personal. Teas are brewed from traditional tea leaves and from other herbal ingredients. It is used in healing, socialization and ritual. It is firmly established as a beverage in societies all over the world. So however you take your tea - with lemon or cream, hot or iced... here's to tea!

"Iced Tea" coolly suggests languid southern evenings on the veranda with an icy glass of home brewed tea. This refreshing summer scene is complete with a fresh cut lemon on a golden plate.
