Favor of Proteus ,ring of wisdom and versatility

- by Marvin Lee Billings

This week's theme: Tactile Blues

There are two themes running through the pieces featured in this week's Art of the Day. One is that they are all multidimensional and the other is that they all contain bits of blue.

The Labradorite Stone is 30 mm X 10 mm X 5 mm , the stones light-play appears as a teal ocean green to bright moonlight wave of blue that shimmers like water across the skin of an moray eel, The ring itself is decorates with a twisted 18g double square silver wire around the stone and set on a triple band decorated with dolphins on one side and seahorse ans clam on the other . A very eye catching stone and ring design created especially for people with strong hands and large fingers . Would make a perfect pointer finger ring .

Ring size 9 .4

Total weight 16.7grams

Proteus , the immortal old man of the sea who never lies, who sounds the deep in all its depths, able to shape change into any animal or plant can also take the form of water . He was sought out for his great wisdom and ability to foresee the future .

Also helps to enhance all forms of perception during the day

In many of the old stories Proteus possessed knowledge of all things—past, present, and future—but was reluctant to reveal his knowledge. He would answer questions only if caught. The only way to catch him was to sneak up on him at noontime when he took his daily nap. However, Proteus also had the ability to change shape at will. Once he was seized, it was necessary to hold him tightly until he returned to his natural form.
