Art: Clamming And Fishing At Sunset by Artist Carol Thompson

"It can't get any better than clamming and fishing at sunset on the Pacific northwest coast."

Artist comment:  "The only thing I enjoy more than digging clams is capturing the experience with pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes textured paper. I painted the vivid colors of one wonderful afternoon. I began with a quick sketch of the composition, with emphasis on the sky and sand. There are six figures and one boat for a seven balance. There are seven main wavelets on the sand. There are seven areas of light in the clouds. Do you see how that works? But mostly it is a happy sunset painting."
