Garlic

- by Kiny McCarrick

This week's theme: Still Life: Food

The still life is a standard for artists. The shapes and colours of everyday objects please and fascinate. Human beings love to eat. Eating represents sustenance, community and brings us pleasure. Is it any wonder that food often finds it's way into our art?

Art: Garlic by Artist Kiny McCarrick
This is a small intense Original work of art. It has incredible detail and was done with intricate precision using artist grade oil pastels. I have used a touch of opalescent oil pastel in the skin for highlights. This is merely a scan and cannot reproduce the beauty or depth of the colors. It has been coated with a UV protective varnish especially for oils. This particular piece is permanently mounted in a beautiful carved wood frame that measures 3.3/8" x 3.7/8". Even the board it is mounted on is archival grade material. This piece has been signed by me on the front of the art, actually scratched into the pastel. It will come with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity as well as a digital COA.

Five of my miniatures are currently in the Northern California Society of Arts in Miniature International Exhibit. I am currently creating pieces to be entered into international exhibits within the next few months. The price on this piece is starting at a small fraction of my Gallery prices.

The tedious work involved in miniatures is what appeals to collectors. Please tell others about this auction and turn them on to the Fine Art Miniature.
