Art: Spring Daffodils by Artist Elizabeth Alexandra
I absolutely love the flower of the month shows…though I am best known for Rose paintings, having a different flower each month allows me to stretch my wings and find new inspiration. I enjoy taking the opportunity to discover what each flower is all about … I look at them growing in the wild, study photographs, research their tendencies and unique qualities. I discovered that daffodils, though most commonly yellow, can also have orange centers with white or pale lemon leaves, and other interesting variations. I played with those interesting color combinations in this painting, and made a conscious decision to create an environment different from the expansive landscape which featured my Crocus painting of last months show.
