Forgotten Shades

- by Thaneeya McArdle

This week's theme: Restaurants

Restaurants - we go to them for all manner of reasons. To get a bite, grab a drink, to hang out, make money and spend time with friends. Whether fine dining, street vendors, trendy spots or corner diners - they are a part of the fabric of our society. They don't just offer sustenance, but a place to be and interact with others.

Art: Forgotten Shades by Artist Thaneeya McArdle
I think we've all had this type of restaurant experience at some point or another! Aside from the subject matter, what particularly interested me was the composition of this piece, especially the angles formed by the objects resting on the table in relation to each other and to the highlights reflected on the table's surface. The incoming light from the unseen windows creates a strong sense of atmosphere in this diner scene.
