Green Egg (no ham) - Available

- by Dorothy Edwards

This week's theme: Mosaics

A mosaic is art that is an assemblage of small pieces used to create a whole. Most often associated with tile or stone, a mosaic can be comprised of anything. Mosaics can be functional or decorative, representational or abstract. The week, Art of the Day brings you a small selection of the variety of mosaic pieces found in the EBSQ Galleries.

Art: Green Egg (no ham) - Available by Artist Dorothy Edwards
I began this piece because I found two egg forms in a thrift store or maybe it was a garage sale. In any case, it was cheap. The egg forms sat around for ages and I finally got around to doing something with them.

I decided to try something in the style of Faberge and this is the result. I used jade green opio glass, real pearls, and other fine costume jewelry. It was fun to do, especially since I like shiny things.
