Unconditional Love

- by Julie Hollis

This week's theme: Mandalas

A mandala (Sanskrit: मण्डल, lit, circle) is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Indian religions, representing the universe. In common use, "mandala" has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe. - Wikipedia

Art: Unconditional Love by Artist Julie Hollis
Many therapies use colour to focus the healing process on the seven chakra points of the body. Each chakra governs a different area and each has colours associated with it. Mandala patterns are also associated with a healing process and the act of choosing colours and actually colouring in allow a healing meditative state to occur. This mandala was created using MandalaMaker and I have used the Heart Chakra colours of green and pink coupled with the Throat Chakra colour of blue. Green is traditionally associated with the heart and circulatory systems, whilst pink is a higher colour associated with the unconditional love we feel for family members. Blue allows the clarity of communication of those beautiful feelings. Offered as a digital file or printed on archival matte paper.
