Tulip Abstract

- by Laurie Young

This week's theme: Macro Photography

The art of taking extreme close up pictures of subjects to bring enhancement of details and textures. Often rendering an object in such tight focus the viewer begins to question what exactly he/she is seeing.

Art: Tulip Abstract by Artist Laurie Young
Close up, tulips have an amazing, undulating movement, like mountains and oceans. This image is a dramatic abstraction of the natural world in orange and green tones. "Tulip Abstract" is a part of a larger series called “Intimate Florals, “ a celebration of flowers that captures the intimate detail of nature—in ethereal pastel and exhuberant color. By photographing these floral subjects up close, each flower’s distinct personality is illuminated in the delicate curvature of its petals, revealing the spiritual qualities of the natural world.
