Goldfinch Sculpted Cameo on Stained Glass ACEO

- by Paulie Rollins

This week's theme: Little Things

This week EBSQ's Art of the Day features very small works of art.

Art: Goldfinch Sculpted Cameo on Stained Glass ACEO by Artist Paulie Rollins
This ACEO is a one-of-a-kind hand sculpted cameo on stained glass. Several types of clay are used for the sculpting, and once the work is done, it's glazed a number of times for a satiny shine and protection to last a lifetime and beyond. Because this ACEO is real stained glass, it's a bit heavy, so even though I've kept the shipping and handling price as low as I can for you, it's still a bit higher than with my normal ACEO prices. The thickness of the glass doesn't allow this ACEO to fit into a normal Trading Card sleeve, but I think you'll agree that the sleeve isn't necessary for these little toughies. This type of ACEO can proudly be displayed sitting in a tiny easel, or it's beautiful mounted in a frame without the clear glass or matting.

Stained glass sometimes has a mind of its own when we go to cutting this stuff, and my photos don't show the edges, so I wanted to let you know that the glass edges can sometimes have lots of "character", making them each an unusual piece even before I do the artwork. All of the character is carefully sanded on all of the 8 edges and corners, so they are safe to handle, but the sides are left smooth, allowing for you to enjoy the beautiful colors from the side, with none of the frost from sanding to get in the way.

This cameo ACEO has my inked initials on the front, and the full signature is etched into the back, along with the date & copyright info.
