Zippo Lighter

- by Torrie Smiley

This week's theme: Light

Of little weight, demands little exertion, a source of light, a device that uses light as a signal, a source of fire, to ignite, to burn, spiritual illumination, understanding, not dark in colour; fair, in consideration of, coffee taken with cream.

Art: Zippo Lighter by Artist Torrie Smiley
Zippo Lighter is my submission to the Zippo Challenge at Daily Paintworks Challenge.

I am fascinated with the painting challenges and seeing what artists do with the same reference photo and instructions. This was much harder to do than I expected.

Title: Zippo Lighter

Size: 6" x 6"

Zippo Lighter was completed in my home studio in Charlotte, North Carolina. c2011

Media: Zippo Lighter was painted using professional artist grade acrylic paint on a gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides to allow for display without a frame. Painting was finished with a light coat of varnish.

Miscellaneous: A Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist will be provided for your records.
