What we see in an abstract painting has a lot to do with where we are in our life. Our perception can change as the circumstances of our world change. Our mood, what just happened, who we are with - all can influence what our mind sees when we look at a piece of abstract art. We have just closed the books on one year and are about to start a new one. Just as with art, our perception of our life can change as the circumstances of our world change. What our perception of these seven paintings will be in a year's time is as much of an unknown as how we will perceive our own life and the world we inhabit.
This original piece is created on a 16" X 16" stretched canvas using acrylic.
"Storyteller" is a symbolic piece of the shaman...the "fortuneteller" of the *tribe* whom everyone went to see at least once in their lifetime, most often their visits were quite frequent to hear what their future held. Even though the answers were not always what they wished to hear, they respected this elder. Many a night they would sit around the fire and this is when even the youngest of ears would even hear the tells this grand Story Teller had to tell...these stories got passed down to generation to generation. Some of these tells we may still know, but we may know them as "fairy tales" or the like, but to them, it was their truth.
*Sides painted black and ready to hang.
