This week Art of the Day introduces you to seven of the artists that became EBSQ members in 2009. This is going to be reoccurring feature for EBSQ's Art of the Day and we look forward to bringing you more new EBSQ artists in the months to come.
This self portrait was taken only 3 months after nearly a 2 week hospitalization for advanced heart failure caused by cardiomyopathy (an enlarged heart). I had a defibrillator pacemaker installed...hubby loves me more now that I'm more like his car! *heehee*
I'm enjoying this time in my life...I've had some really challenging and eye-opening experiences in the last 14 years. Congestive heart failure brought on by cardiomyopathy (...hey, mom always said I had a big heart...LOL), at the age of 30 (1995), and again at 41 (2007) that led to being placed on a heart transplant list.
This made me reflect on how I was living my life and how I really wanted to be living it...not that I haven't always thought about that, but I want to make sure that I savor every fleeting moment while I can! I, now, understand that "crisis" that we all [eventually] have to face...be it mid-life or not!
