What's that you say?

- by Jesse Lee Carkin

This week's theme: Ink on Paper

The juice of a berry. Most likely, this was the first ink. Somewhere, buried deep in pre-history, is the moment when we began to use ink applied with simple tools to create and communicate. Today the world is technical and modern, yet the simple elegance of ink applied with a point or a brush is something we have no desire to set aside.

Fine piece rendered in pen and ink. Playfully titled What's that you say? The zebra leans in as if listening to you. Like this piece, it's also available on t-shirts and the like at www.cafepress.com
