- by Renie Britenbucher

This week's theme: Go Fly A Kite

Kites have been around for thousands of years. Kites have had and continue to have practical uses. They have found applications in everything from the military to meteorology. They are often found in cultural and religious celebrations. And kites can of course be found on beaches, in fields or anywhere on a breezy day that is open to the sky.

Learn more about the history and types of kites, how they are used and how to make your own kite.

Lots of bright, brilliant color from houses and trees in a very colorful landscape. There are a few children in the background, flying kites high up in the sky, which is filled with pink, fluffy clouds.
