A Well-Rounded Point Of View ~ (Sold)

- by Amy Solovay

This week's theme: Getting To The Point

In the American Heritage Dictionary (http://www.bartleby.com/61/), there are 36 definitions for "point". This number doesn't include the specialized usages or the idioms. The point of all this is that "point" is a word with many meanings and therefore many uses.

Art: A Well-Rounded Point Of View ~ (Sold) by Artist Amy Solovay

Work: Original framed miniature collage/painting/assemblage. The work incorporates dyes, lumiere metallic paints, and Polymer resin tiles with vintage plastic beads and goodies embedded inside. The frame was totally different until I altered it to become what you see here, although you can still see a bit of its original texture peeking through. The spin paintings that form the basis of this collage are my own original artwork; they are hand painted. The dyed background is my own painting as well; the entire composition is my own work. I would describe this piece as Contemporary, Modern, Abstract, Unique, and Fun.

Series: This is part of my "Youth" Series, inspired in part by the college students I teach. It is a one of a kind original (OOAK) yet is a cohesive part of the series.

Colors: Green, Teal, Blue, Chartreuse...the circles were created using Lumiere metallic paints and they are shimmery and shiny, although you can't tell from the picture. The beads are multicolored and colorful. Bead colors include red, pink, orange, yellow, purple, green, hot pink, blue, black & white. Email if you need pantone #s. Colors may not appear accurately on your monitor.
