Art: Dogs and Cats Rain Gauge by Artist Robin Cruz McGee
This is my entry in the Nibblefest Art Contest, a themed art contest beginning on the 20th of each month. Please be sure to search for NFAC to see more great entries, each starting at just 99¢. Thanks! This is an original sculpture by Robin C. McGee, proud member of EBSQ. The two copper halves are chased and patinated. Chasing is a process where lines are hand chiseled into the surface of metal. Today chasing is a rare art. There are few artisans who work in this technique due to the labor intensiveness and skill needed to perform this craft. The pieces are riveted together with copper rivets and treated with Jax green patina. The patina will continue to develop with age and become richer as time goes on. The Rain Gauge comes with a stand which can be stuck in the ground. Own this beautiful, one-of-a-kind work of art!
