I created this piece specifically for the October 2005 Flower of the Month show. I have painted many flowers throughout my career, but this is my first marigold work, which is interesting because they are one of my absolute favorite flowers. I think I was intimidated at first by all the curly textured petals, but once I got going it was a lot of fun. I am happy with the way it turned out.
