Lady of the Woods - needle felted, ball-jointed doll

- by Harlan

This week's theme: Fibre Art

If you stop and think about, can make anything out of fibre - or fiber if you prefer a less artsy spelling. You can make clothes, toys, bowls and baskets. It covers our furniture, makes out beds and more and more, it's used to insulates our homes. This week EBSQ's Art of the Day looks at fibre in art. We have practical, decorative and simply fun examples of what an artist can do when they explore their creativity using fibre.

Art: Lady of the Woods - needle felted, ball-jointed doll by Artist Harlan
I've been wanting to make a needle felted, ball-jointed doll for some time. I had more than a year ago experimented with using needle felting with a ball joint, but never found time to actually do a whole doll until now.
Primarily I was working with what I had close at hand. I'd like to try doing some more, experimenting with a greater variety of colors and different types of hair styles and such. I think she came out very nicely and she'll now watch over my small woodland animals!
