Beach Bunny

- by Tina Marie Ferguson

This week's theme: Dolls

Dolls - they aren't just children's playthings. We use them in religious rituals, for decoration, as totems, to tell stories and to personify aspects of our psyche and the natural world. They can be realistic or abstractly representational but whatever form they take, we continue to create them and enjoy them.

Art: Beach Bunny by Artist Tina Marie Ferguson
This rabbit, sock sculpture is an original, one of a kind artist creation. This beach bunny is a critter cousin to the well known sock monkey of yesteryear. She is made of a pair of matching socks along with pieces of another coordinating sock. The arms are sewn directly to the body. She is wearing a skirt that has either an alligator or a crocodile along with the word CHOMP. She has a strapless green bra top to go along with her skirt. Her eyes are white with green pupil buttons. The teeth are hand stitched in blue on white felt and her nose is an up side down green heart button. One of her ears has a ribbon tied on.
