Beaded Devil

- by The Lone Beader

This week's theme: Doll Art

Dolls are not just children's playthings. They find their way into many aspects of our life. We use them in religious rituals, for decoration, as totems and to personify aspects of our psyche and the natural world.

They can be realistic or abstractly representational but whatever form they take, we continue to create them for all of these reasons and more.

Art: Beaded Devil by Artist The Lone Beader
My mother always told me to beware of the Devil - for it can come in all shapes and sizes...

I created this little devil out of felt, then I bead-embroidered the entire front of his body using an assortment of red seed beads. I also used buttons for his eyes. This piece is artist-signed on the back.

This piece is part of a private collection.
