The Music Maker (SOLD)

- by Stephanie A. Allison

This week's theme: Defining Music

The Collins English Dictionary says music is a noun and it's pronounced [ˈmjuːzɪk]. It goes on to say that music is "an art form consisting of sequences of sounds in time, esp tones of definite pitch organized melodically, harmonically, rhythmically and according to tone colour". It also says that it's "the sounds so produced, especially by singing or musical instruments" as well as "the written or printed music, such as a score or set of parts".

Claude DeBussy said that "Music is the space between the notes". Or if you prefer, "Music is motion in time" - Felix Salzer.
