Valentine heart

- by Tony Roberts

This week's theme: Coupling

cou·ple
n.

  1. Two items of the same kind; a pair.
  2. Something that joins or connects two things together; a link.
  3. (used with a sing. or pl. verb)
    a. Two people united, as by betrothal or marriage.
    b. Two people together.

Two people together. A pair bond. It is a desire that has driven humans as far back as anyone can trace. It is the theme of some of our oldest tales and found in some of our oldest images. And here in the 21st century, it holds us captive still.

Art: Valentine heart by Artist Tony Roberts
A freestanding small glass sculpture designed as a valentine gift to be kept for ever! It depicts two lovers, entwined within a heart. This work shines in the light, and looks wonderful lit with a candle in a darkened room... A real, handmade, original artwork by internationally collected artist Tony Roberts, one of a series of just 60 similar but never identical works, in various combinations of color.
