Artist comment:  "Grey is my favorite color!  When I have the opportunity to observe the grey storm clouds rise in the west over the ocean, I truly am thrilled.  The waves take on a deeper shade of green and traditional foam patterns give way to tossing ripples.  These are the elements that I kept in mind as I painted this oil on canvas.  I left just enough blue sky to reflect in the foreground to relieve the somberness of the approaching storm.  The highlights on the waves I brushed to the side to indicate a strong south wind whipping through!"
