This classical botanical watercolor shows a single Darwin hybrid tulip. With no background, the viewer is encouraged to carefully study the details of the flower and leaves. Like all my botanical watercolors, this one was drawn and painted from life. The tedious dry brush technique which I use becomes almost meditative especially when doing large pieces.
