Some of the tiny patterns on the inside of envelopes remind me of vintage Sears men's boxer shorts and I have been saving them for a while now.

I used to be a quilter, you know...with fabrics- many years ago, but an unspeakably awful experience swept me away from the craft forever, or not.

I sliced up the envelopes with my paper cutter in log cabin fashion and assembled them on (actually glued them to) several American Express Blue credit card offers that come in the mail regularly. I just couldn't seem to toss those nifty plastic fake charge cards either.

I didn't make as many blocks as I thought I might, but if you step back and squint a little, you will see the sunshine and shadow effect of the black & blue.

My first intention was to do a Snail's Trail junk mail pattern, and if I get really ambitious before this show is over it might magically appear.

Yes, that is a digital mat added to the quilt, I cheated a little.
