Travel - SOLD

- by Kristi Schueler

This week's theme: Artist Made Books: Journals and Diaries

Why should your deepest thoughts, flights of fancy, fondest memories, sincerest hopes, grandest ideas and all your other magnificent plots, plans, introspections, musings be set down in an ordinary notebook?

Art: Travel - SOLD by Artist Kristi Schueler

This book was created on commission for my sister who was about to be traveling abroad and wanted a good way to keep track of what she did each day but then be able to put things together into a coordinating scrapbook upon her return.

I opted to go for an envelope book with handmande number 10 envelopes nested in an accordion pleated spine. I decided that size was optimum as it would be large enough to hold copies of her travel documents and collected tourist brochures as well as papers in a neutral color in two sizes for journaling on and later adding to the scrapbook. One size lent itself to lists and perhaps keeping a photo log. There is one enevelope for each day or travel and each envelop holds 6 pieces of pastel paper in an off white color.

The report upon her return was that the book was PERFECT! For her next trip, the paper inside the envelopes can be restocked and she'll be ready to hit the road once again!

This book has been sold, but I do accept commissions for books so you can have one made especially for your next trip!
