Astrology. Few things have been with mankind as long. The concepts and images of Astrology have endured longer than many civilizations and spanned quite a few cultural shifts. Our fascination has not waned - if anything, it has strengthened. We read out daily horoscope in the paper. We buy countless books on the subject. We often wear our astrological sign and decorate our spaces with it. Astrology has even become a singles cliché with the pick-up line "Hey baby, what's your sign?" There are many symbols and signs found in Astrology, but for this show we will concentrate on the 12 images of the astrological Zodiac. Though many cultures had their own Zodiac, the focus here is the Greco-Roman Zodiac that many are most familiar with.

This show is open to all media. The entire Zodiac may be represented in one pentry. Work of individual signs is also eligible. If an artist wishes to enter pieces of individual signs, but not all 12, then the 5 entry limit applies. If an artist wishes to depict all 12 signs of the Zodiac individually, the 5 entry limit does not apply.

An artist's statement is required for every entry. Information detailing the materials, process and what made you choose your subject should be included. This increases understanding of your work and significantly enhances the experience for the viewer. As texture or other small elements may be pivotal to the piece, detail shots are encouraged. Eligible entries need to meet all points of the prospectus. If you have any questions regarding the prospectus and its requirements, please send them to edu@ebsqart.com.
