I stepped outside and found this feather at my feet, and immediately thought of Luke 12:24.
"Look at the ravens. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds!"
In this section of Luke (12:22-34), he teaches us how our worries distract us from out true purpose, and how, through faith, God will provide all our needs. It is only through faith, and God's grace, that we can reach for, and achieve our true potential.
This painting is mixed media with the primary media being acrylic paint. The verse (Luke 12:24) is stamped on gessoed tissue paper and the birds in the upper right hand corner are a combination of painted birds and paper cut outs. The feather is embedded into the acrylic paint and the whole painting is coated in a clear, high gloss acrylic gel to seal everything in place, add a professional shine, and level the top surface of the painting.
This painting was painted for the EBSQ online exhibit titled "Winged Creatures" and is painted on gessoed hardboard. It measures 8x8 inches. It is part of my ongoing series, "The Word", using art to bring the Gospel and love of Jesus to you! It is only with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that I am able to express my art.
Sorry, but this painting is not available for sale.
