This painting was inspired by seagulls seen taking to the air at the beach. I have to combine photos and sketches for the refrance material for this painting. Even when our southern California skys look calm with cotton-ball clouds hanging in the sky our palm trees show the movement of the wind currents that the gulls use to soar on while searching for their next meal. This painting on acid free watercolor papaer uses ink markers and metallic inks.
