Bloody Hell!
Bloody Hell! is a large (24x36x1.5") figurative abstract that depicts several tormented and agonized souls (in human form) seen from afar; suffering for all eternity in the bloody, fiery, sulfurous pits of eternal despair. It's quite obvious that there's no chance of redemption or salvation for those who suffer here. If you listen closely, you can almost hear their shrieks and groans of pain and despair.
There are no defining facial features on any of the tormented souls, as I feel that leaves more to the imagination, and makes them even more interesting.
There is a lot of texture in this piece that was created using a special texture paste and a knife.
The only color I used was alizarin crimson, but due to the glazing technique I used, there are areas of white, as well as much darker shades of the crimson color.
I painted the deep 1.5" sides black, and also left about an inch and a half of white space around the actual art (giving the effect of a white mat, and also giving the eyes a place to rest), so there's no need for expensive framing.
I signed it on the back, and it has been varnished for protection, and enhancement of color.
