I always know when spring is on the way because I get this overwhelming urge to paint T-shirts. I try and try to sublimate it, but it is stronger than I am. This year I've noticed that the wonderful all-over designs in the stores are really nice and all my T's were plain. I really can't afford to go out and buy new ones, because I'm a poor starving artist - right? This T is one that had had bleach spilled on it up near the collar band. I cut off the collar band and restitched the edge. Then I used several strands of yarn and ribbon left from other projects together. I "finger-crocheted" because I think I gave all my crochet hooks away to someone who needed them more than I. The butterflies began with rubber stamps and ended with freestyle painting. I used acrylics which are always in my home (I've even used them to paint my walls and many murals on my walls, both inside and out.) My previous experiments with these paints indicates that the paint far outlasts the T-shirts.
