Meet my son Shane and his favorite stuffed toy, Puppy. Puppy is required at bedtime and must travel with us if we are staying overnight somewhere. Occassionally, we have to hunt for Puppy when she has wondered away from the bedroom. And sometimes I demand that she has to have a bath.

This is my favorite drawing in my Shane & Puppy series. Normally, I would not draw the same thing over and over (boring and it takes away originality), but I needed to show my portrait clients what the same photo would like like in each of the different media choices that I offer. Because this portrait turned out so well, I gave it to my parents for their 45th wedding anniversary.

This portrait was created with pastel and colored pencil. I like the way the pastel creates a smooth color base that you can add colored pencil details on top of.
