My life changed in 2008. I am a breast cancer survivor with a testimony that will send chills of joy through your body. This piece is inspired by a revelation from God in the Fall of 2008 (before my diagnosis). I had already had a biopsy revealing three lesions. Then one Sunday morning as I entered the church, a shocking pain passed though my shoulder and out through my right breast, after which, I was seated behind the Paster and Prayer Warriors. That is when God covered me with his warm arms and showed me His love and protection. Days later, I underwent a surgical double mastectomy. The findings where only two lesions - God was healing me by taking one of them away before the surgery procedure. I have been renewed in my spirit and understanding of the fundamental concept of God's goodness. He will heal.

This painting is and exhibit of my new momentum and excitement for life. I built the panel from recycled plywood and 1" X 2" framing. It is in acrylic with seeds, and fibers. The pink colors and ribbon represent the mission of Breast Cancer Awareness organizations all over the world; the blue is the heavens above; the rice is purity; and the cross is a symbol of where God gave His only son for my life.
