There's a dirty window I can see you through.
This is an original miniature art quilt by Coppermouse entitled, "Dirty Window." I began with an acetone transfer of an image of asylum patient from the nineteenth century on plain bleached muslin. Next I dyed her face with Jacquard's dye. Pieces of damask and cotton were machine pieced to create a frame. Green crystal organza was machine stitched over her eyes with blue thread creating a "window". Two types of stippling were used to create texture. There is some hand embroidery and a giant orange button contrasting the subdued cool color scheme.
