This is a media/genre specific show. Only sculptural entries will be accepted.
A sculptor creates art meant to be viewed from various angles. We stand in front of it, circle around it, occasionally crouch as we look. There are times, however, when what is created is more than just something to look at. It is no long just something to be gazed upon - it begs to be touched. Sometimes it is the shape, sometimes the texture, sometimes it is the size of the work. Whatever it is, it makes us want the art to be tangible against our hand.
That is what this show is all about. Sculpture that speaks tactilely as well as visually. Sculpture that we want to reach out and touch; to feel it's texture or its weight in our hand.
A visual artist creates visual art. Sometimes, what they create, goes beyond visual.
A statement detailing the materials, process, and of course, the impetus that went into creating your piece is required. It increases understanding of your work and significantly enhances the experience for the viewer. As texture or other small details may be pivotal to the reason for entry, detail shots are encouraged.
