A change from my usual subject matter of portraits, I wanted to see if I could achieve the look I wanted using a candle in the still life.  Candles have a light source of their own and I was not sure If I could recreate that inner light effect.  I struggled with the light until talking with my 14-year-old niece who did not have the same pre-conceived notions about inner light that I had, so was freer with her suggestions of possible treatments.  I tried one of her suggestions and felt it was successful.
