I was experimenting with watercolors one day, letting the paint run all over the paper, and I began to see what looked like a squid forming. This was a fun piece to do because as it took shape I saw this mysterious creature that I've read about in old sea tales take form. It seemed to me he was fighting for his survival, against whom or what, I am not sure. It could be many things. Sea life has always fascinated me. There is a whole other world under the water and I only have a slight knowledge of it. When it comes to deep sea life especially, I can only imagine how life must be for these creatures. For me, both the sea and the giant squid are beautiful and scary and I wouldn't have it any other way.
