Art: Stuffed by Artist Carissa M Martos
For this piece, I emptied two Spam cans, and pulled out the cubes of "meat." Then, I cubed a small portion of one of the Spam hunks, and stuffed one of the small fish with it, careful to keep true to the unnatural shape of the canned food product. I added a lemon twist and kidney-beans with rosemary sprigs for garnishes, and drizzled a bright-yellow curry sauce over the beans.

To create the "vases" in the image, I carefully halved a few small fish, stuffing them into the the now vacant Spam cans, so that their heads and tails stuck out at all angles. I love the irritated expression on the face of the plated fish, and the worry on the face of the canned guys.

Spam-stuffed fish and fish-stuffed Spam cans. My dog was overjoyed with the meal.

A digital photograph, retouched in Paint and then editing software, printed on velvety artist's paper that is soft to the touch.
