In the shadows of the guardian’s face you can see her true form and the shape of those creatures she watches over. Loyally at her side her companion and guide takes shape in the mist. Her charges standing in the back ground regard the passerby with curiosity and caution. This painting was inspired by a Japanese myth about the Foxwoman. I used myself for the model because I feel a special closeness with these animals.
