After several years of working with acrylics I decided to take the plunge back into oil painting. I started off with landscapes and portraits. I did a series of small portraits in a loose, relaxed style. I had never had the confidence to paint people in a non traditional way and this series opened my eyes to many possibilities. The final piece of the series was this self portrait, the first one I've ever painted.
