This piece was done in response to a story I read following the China Earthquake. There was an officer who was also a nursing mother who nursed 9 babies who were not hers to keep them alive during the disaster. I created this piece with her image, because she had the same peace and maternal feeling as the Virgin Mary is also depicted as having. I used this piece to raise money for the Red Cross relief fund.
