I used to paint in only shades of blue when I first began painting in high school. The brilliant blues in many of van Gogh's later paintings just pulled me in. They were what I imagined the blues in dreams to look like...surreal. Although I experiment with most any color I can get a hold of now, I wanted to once again pay tribute to the color that got me started in the first place and the artist that inspired me (without me even realizing it at first).
