What has continuously growing incisors that must be kept short by gnawing, can weigh anywhere from .25 ounces to 180 pounds and is found everywhere on earth but Antarctica? Why, rodents, of course! Since they are such diverse and hearty creatures, we felt like they deserved to be recognized in some meaningful way. Thus, the EBSQ “Rodent Show” was born.

This show is open to all media. Any type of rodent may be depicted. They may be a species alive today or one that has become extinct. The only real requirement you need to keep in mind when choosing your subject is that it be a rodent that is real – living or have lived, as opposed to one that has been created in the imagination. Please include the type of rodent and a little bit about it in your artist’s statement.

We strongly recommend all artists include in their statement information about why and how they chose to create their piece, as statements can enhance the experience for the online viewer. We also encourage you to include detail shots of your entries. This will allow the viewer to fully appreciate your work as small details can be lost in an online environment.

Eligible entries must meet all points of the prospectus. If you have any questions regarding the prospectus and its requirements, please send them to
