Art: A Peony for Preston by Artist Tracey Allyn Greene
For the EBSQ Ripped Off show 2007, my rip of a lovely piece by Deborah Sprague. Deb has a great love of bulldogs, and generously donates her talents to bulldog rescues. A particular piece of hers inspired me, "A Rose for Preston", a little portrait of a bulldog rescue. This little dog was deprived of water when he was a young puppy because his owners didn't want him to mess on the carpet, and because of that, he has permanent kidney damage. He's out of that home now, and in foster care. At least for his remaining time, he will have the love he deserves. So, I decided to depict Preston with a peony, which in asian art symbolizes good fortune, because if any creature deserves that, it is Preston. Long life, sweet Preston. Thanks for ripping with me Deborah, it's always a pleasure.
