This piece was created for EBSQ's 2006 Ripped show... inspired by Cynthia Gaub's beautiful "Meditation of Spring." I was very drawn to this particular piece of hers because of the tranquility within it as well as the profound connection to nature that I saw in it. I chose to move my piece into summer, and bring my own style to it with the woman depicted feeling "small" compared to the inspiring breadth of her surroundings.
This piece was first pyrographed on solid pine, and then painted with acrylics. I then finished it off with a protective coat of varnish and wire for hanging.
