I created this piece specifically for ebsq's 4th annual "Ripped Off" show. Kelli Dubay was kind enough to let me "rip off" her work titled "1982". At first I thought it would be fun to totally poke fun at the piece by adding bright colors, maybe a party hat, and a big goofy grin. But alas, I couldn't do it. The passion in her work is so startling, and I love the raw edge that this particular work of hers has... I couldn't bear to turn it into a comedy. So there it is, with my trademark high contrast, bright colors, and glowing edges. :-)
