I learned how to make a cement pot by experimenting. Then I heard about adding peat moss to concret mix to make a lighter pot. The cement mixture is applied to a previously painted terra cotta pot while the pot is upside down. While it's still wet I add ornamentation and pat until I have a smooth surface. It dries overnight and ready to use. I added objects that I had had around for a long time in drawers that were just taking up space. Objects like a quitar pick(my boys play guitars),marbles found in the yard, broken bits of mirrors, broken tiles left from tile projects, beads from some necklaces in New Orleans and left over dice from old games. I even stuck in a fork from an old set and small vase from I don't know where. It's been a fun conversation piece whenever friends of my sons' come over.
