While on vacation, and seeing a storm roll in I could not help myself. I grabbed paints, canvas, brushes and dart for the beach. (to make the best of a rained out day.) Finding a spot just beyond the living dunes, sand break fences, and makeshift road. As the storm approached I could see the rain slowly creeping up me as it fell on the beach to my right.
I was fortunate to have just enough time to complete the painting and capture the beautiful colors, and turmoil of the waves, before all went brown from the churning sand. As I was running for cover I captured a few raindrops on the canvas by accident. But what a rush it was.
Painted in Surfside, Texas.
