The Citadel of Malta, as the light faded in the autumn of 2003
This work was created on a dust track at the ruins of ¨¤agar Qim (a 3500-year old collection of building remains on Malta), which I spent a happy day drawing and painting (I 'collect' ancient sites, as you can tell!). Then, in the evening, I turned round, and there was Rabat - the Citadel - on a distant hill silhoutted against the evening sky. Fantastic! Later, I transferred my sketch to glass, as that medium allows me to try to capture the light. And, there you have it.
